Botox and Fillers
Injectable wrinkle and fillers treatment |
|
| Dr Vickie Lee is an eyelid specialist with extensive experience in botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatment around the eyes. |

Botox® or Vistabel® is a purified
protein that
can be injected to treat many conditions including facial wrinkles,
eyelid and hemifacial spasm. When it is used to treat facial wrinkles,
it relaxes the muscles that contract and cause wrinkles such as
frown lines between the eyebrows and crows feet. More relaxed muscles
give the face a more youthful and relaxed look.
Blepharospasm is a
condition in which both eyelids close uncontrollably and Hemifacial
spasm involves involuntary spastic contractures of one half of the
face. Both these conditions respond well to Botolinum toxin treatment.
The effect can last up to four months, but treatment will need to
be repeated to maintain its benefits. |

Restylane® and Perlane® are
derma fillers that are composed of non-animal based hyaluronic
acid - the same natural substance that already exists in the body. They can be injected into the frown lines in the forehead and the corrugator muscles that wrinkle the brow, the hollows underneath the lower eyelids, the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of the mouth) and the lips. Most patients find the use of a topical anaesthetic cream makes the injections very acceptable, and the results can be seen immediately and generally last for 6 to 9 months.
Fillers are also used to
increase the volume of the lips, giving a more healthy and vital appearance.
Unlike collagen injections, these second generation fillers are not
based on animal extracts and have no risk of allergic reactions. The
treatment lasts up to six months. |
